Embark on a popular and moderate day hike just outside of Marrakesh, ascending and descending almost 900m. Take in panoramic views of the Imlil and Azzaden Valleys from several points along the route.
After your early morning pickup from your hotel in the city, sit back and relax on the 64-kilometer ride towards the High Atlas Mountains. Arrive at the village of Imlil (1,740m), the starting point of your hike.

Pickup & Journey to Imlil
Your day begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Marrakech. Enjoy a comfortable 64-kilometer ride through the scenic Moroccan countryside as you approach the majestic High Atlas Mountains.
You'll arrive at the village of Imlil (1,740m), a picturesque Berber settlement nestled in the mountains and the starting point for your hiking adventure.
Ascent to Tizi M'zik & Mont Tasghimout Summit
Begin your hike by heading up the M'zik Valley towards the Tizi M'zik pass (2,500m), passing through the traditional Berber villages of Arghen and M'zik along the way.
From the pass, enter the beautiful Moroccan pine forest and follow the trail that leads to the summit of the mighty Mont Tasghimout (2,700m). This moderate hike involves approximately 900m of elevation gain, offering a rewarding challenge for day hikers.
Panoramic Valley Views
At the summit of Tasghimout, take your time to marvel at the breathtaking panoramic views. Below you'll see the Azzaden Valley stretching out with the Berber villages of Tizi Oussem and Ait-Aissa nestled in the landscape.
The summit offers one of the best viewpoints in the region, with sweeping vistas of both the Imlil and Azzaden Valleys - a perfect reward for your climbing efforts.
Descent & Return to Marrakech
After enjoying the summit views, begin your descent back to Imlil. Enjoy a well-deserved picnic lunch during your journey down, taking in the beautiful mountain scenery.
Once back in Imlil, you'll be transported back to Marrakech with a relaxed drop-off at your accommodation, filled with memories of your Atlas Mountains hiking adventure.
